As sorted players are already aware, there are a number of NPCs running around Brinvoss. These characters are my GMPCs, in a sense - they are not Lorebound on their own, but they are characters who are built into the fabric of the game to give players someone to interact with, and to help me guide the narrative. These characters are not available to be played, though they can be added into Lorebound or Classic backstories (provided their use in this manner is discussed with me first, as I'll need to make sure it's possible to use them the way you want to).
However, it is possible that players may want to create their own NPCs. Maybe you want your character to have living parents who they interact with on a regular basis, or a herd that they lead. It would be fairly unlikely that most characters who have their own territory wouldn't have other characters to share that space with, right? Maybe you want your character to have a childhood best friend, or a sibling?
If this is the case, you are more than welcome to create your own player NPCs! However, please keep in mind that the rules for player NPCs are strict and must be followed at all times:

If this is the case, you are more than welcome to create your own player NPCs! However, please keep in mind that the rules for player NPCs are strict and must be followed at all times:
1. Player NPCs must be in use ONLY in relation to your actual, accepted characters. You may not roleplay them on their own, in their own threads. They may only appear with the Lorebound or Classic character they were created for.
2. Player NPCs are not eligible for any stat gains, they will not find any items, they will not find any clues during the Shatterglass Kingdoms arc, and they will not be involved in any plots (unless you specifically roleplay them being involved in an incident WITH the character they were created for). If you wish your Player NPC to be injured, get sick, or perish in order to further your Lorebound or Classic's plot or character arc, you are free to do so. In terms of skills, Player NPCs will be considered perfectly normal, with Novice level stats across the board.
3. Player NPCs must be entirely Common in appearance. They may not have any coats or modifiers from higher tiers. They may only have the accessories common to their kingdom. You may not purchase extra coats, modifiers, or items for them.
5. If you change your mind at a later date and decide you want to turn your Player NPC into their own character, you must apply for them from scratch, and they may not have any genetic additions - they must appear exactly as they have as a player NPC. If you have not yet created your Lorebound, they can become your Lorebound (however, this would forfeit your Lorebound coat points) otherwise, they would be played as a Classic. As all Player NPCs have Novice stats, this will also result in general stat loss - they will start with 15 points (plus faction and build bonuses), just the same as every other character.
6. If you are creating an individual Player NPC with a name and history, please let me know so I can keep a record of Player NPCs that exist. If you are creating a general NPC herd, you do not need to create names, backstories, appearances, etc for them. Just let me know that such a herd exists and how many characters exist in that herd.
Please note: This does not apply to characters in your character's backstory who you are not planning on using as part of your character's ongoing history. If your character left the herd of their birth, for example, you do not need to create their parents as Player NPCs unless you specifically want to have their parents come with them to interact with them in their new life.
The Name Bank will be updated shortly with the names of Player NPCs I know are currently in use. If you want to add anyone else, please either DM me on site, or let me know via faction channels or DM on Discord.
